On behalf of our faculty and student majors, we welcome you to theSchool of Foreign Studies at South China Agricultural University (SCAU).

     Led by a top-notchfaculty, our School offers programs in disciplines associated with English andJapanese foreign language studies — such as linguistics, literature,interpretation and translation, as well as specialized studies for teaching andbusiness professions — while also helping our students expand beyond basicacademic studies to develop practical knowledge and to explore across culturalboundaries. We aim to sustain and promote cultural understanding andparticipation through spirited discussion, thoughtful intellectual inquiry,extensive reading and rigorous academic, professional and creative writing.

    The School of Foreign Studies(SFS) is mainly comprised of the Department of English, the Department ofBusiness English, the Department of College English Teaching and the Departmentof Japanese, offering undergraduate and graduate programs. Furthermore, therecently established Master of Translation and Interpreting (MTI) Program andEcolinguistics Doctoral Program offer extended opportunities for students. Atour core stands the belief that education motivates, challenges, and enablesbetter futures.  

     We believe thattransformative education does indeed start in our School. We aim to support andguide our students to reach their full potential, academically and socially. Wesupport student and faculty to develop new knowledge and experiences that wethen share through courses, seminars, lectures, and publications. Our facultyis steadily engaged in research and creative scholarly work, receivingwidespread recognition. Our students are mentored and consistently achieveacademic excellence while remaining intellectually and socially engaged. SCAUstudents from all disciplines are also invited to take our courses asdouble-majors. Graduates of our programs not only benefit from strengtheningtheir language proficiency but also broadening their cultural awareness.
