On November 8, Professor Wang Zhong, Associate Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at City University of Macau and an adjunct professor at SFS, visited our school for exchanges and delivered an academic lecture.
The lecture, titled Directions and Strategies for Interdisciplinary Talent Cultivation in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: A Positive Humanistic Perspective, was held in Lecture Hall 402 of the school and attracted nearly a hundred teachers, undergraduate students, and graduate students from our college.
Professor Wang elaborated on the vital role of positive humanism in interdisciplinary talent cultivation in the era of artificial intelligence. He pointed out that the core of positive humanism lies in exploring the positive role of arts and humanities in promoting human well-being and social progress, and its philosophy has a profound impact on talent cultivation in higher education. During the lecture, Professor Wang detailed the expressions of immersion, acquisition, reflection, socialization, and expression in positive humanism and pointed out the specific applications of these elements in interdisciplinary talent cultivation in the era of artificial intelligence. He emphasized that with the continuous development of artificial intelligence technology and the deepening of interdisciplinary research, higher education institutions need to strengthen humanistic reflection and design to ensure that the transmission of innovative knowledge is more effective and can better promote the comprehensive development of individuals, thereby driving the healthy development of society.
This lecture provided a valuable academic exchange opportunity for teachers and students of our school and offered beneficial insights and reflections on interdisciplinary talent cultivation in the era of artificial intelligence. Teachers and students who attended the lecture expressed that Professor Wang's lecture was rich in content, novel in viewpoint, and insightful, providing important guidance for promoting the innovation and development of interdisciplinary talent cultivation.
Professor Wang has long been engaged in research on cultural philosophy, science and technology, and society, with a focus on cultural industries and intangible cultural heritage over the past decade, and has achieved fruitful research results. He previously worked at the Development Research Center of China Association for Science and Technology (now the Innovation Strategy Research Institute of China Association for Science and Technology) and has hosted and participated in multiple national and provincial research projects as well as local research projects in Macau.
SFS has a solid foundation for exchanges with City University of Macau. In the future, the school will continue to strengthen cooperation and exchanges with City University and other Hong Kong and Macao universities and research institutions to contribute to the construction of our university's double first-class status in cultivating compound talents with an international perspective and innovative abilities.
