Prof. Zhu Shoutong from the University of Macau Visits SFS

On the afternoon of November 1, Professor Zhu Shoutong, Director of the Humanities Research Center of the University of Macau, Acting Director of the Chinese History and Culture Center, and Chairman of the Macao Literary Critics Association of the University of Macau visited the School of Foreign Studies. Dean Huang Guowen and Professor Zhu discussed the future academic exchanges and cooperation between the two colleges. Professor Zhu was also invited to the 41st Foreign Language Forum of SFS and gave an academic lecture entitled The History and Ecology of Literature in the Greater Bay Area. The lecture was chaired by Deputy Dean Chen Yang. Many teachers and students from SFS attended the lecture.

  

Professor Zhu first analyzed the influence of Cantonese writing on Cantonese songs from the relevance of Cantonese and Cantonese literature and art, and further elaborated on the connotation of the culture of the Greater Bay Area, focusing on Lingnan culture and warm culture, marine culture and the Greater Bay Area culture, business culture and modern culture, etc..

Professor Zhu's lecture was interesting and inspiring and was well received by the teachers and students present.
