The 2018 Annual Conference of Guangdong Society of Foreign Languages was held in Shenzhen Polytechnic on December 8 to 9. Chair Professor of Chang Jiang Scholars Program Huang Guowen, also Chair of the society and Dean of SFS, attended the conference together with Secretary General of the society and Deputy Dean of SFS Professor Chen Yang and around 10 teachers from SFS.

   Guangdong Society of Foreign Languages was established in 1979 and has been devoted to uniting and organizing teachers and researchers of higher education within Guangdong to carry out research and academic exchange in foreign languages and foreign language education. The society always focused on key issues and hot spots in the foreign language circle, and the theme of the 2018 conference is “Guangdong Foreign Language Education Innovation in the New Era”.

   Professor Huang Guowen hosted the opening ceremony and Vice President of Shenzhen Polytechnic Prof. Tang Xiaoming delivered an opening speech. Deans or representatives from Southern Medical University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Wuyi University, etc. also made speeches on the above theme.

   In the closing ceremony, Prof. Huang Guowen summarized the work of the society in the past year and its contributions to foreign language education innovation in Guangdong. He also proposed that foreign language teaching should remain innovative and ecologically diversified.

    The teachers from SFS listened to the speeches and participated in discussions.
