The English Skills Competition, sponsored by the Communist Youth League Committee of South China Agricultural University and organized by Youth League Committee and Student Union of School of Foreign Studies, is an annual academic competition for all the students of South China Agricultural University. This competition is divided into professional group and non-professional group, and involves three parts including preliminary, quarter-final and final. The competition forms mainly include prepared speech, impromptu speech, debate, news retelling, video dubbing, etc., which are to evaluate students’ English level from four aspects of listening, speaking, reading and writing. It aims at providing a platform for the majority of students to display their English skills and strengthen their cultivation of English application ability, so as to create a good atmosphere for English learning.
