The second workshop organized by the Teacher’sDevelopment Center of the School of Foreign Studies was held on November16. The invited host, Madam Susanna Aafjes, talked about the use ofsmart media in university English teaching.

   Withdemonstrative activities, Susanna showed the pervasiveness of smart devicesin classrooms and pointed out that teachers should accept this reality andrealize that language teaching was no longer a one way instruction but rather aprocess in which smart devices could be made good use of. She also displayedstrategies which could encourage students to choose among overwhelming amountof information and share useful content.

   The workshop was highly interactive. The teachers present asked manyquestions concerning the problems they met in their teaching practice.

   MadamSusanna Aafjes has been an English foreign teacher in the school for twoyears and is most popular among the students and teachers.
