Invited by the Department of Japanese, Prof.Yu Yang from Josai University gave a lecture entitled "Educational Systemin Japan and Current Problems" on April 19. The lecture was chaired byDirector of the Department of Japanese Tang Liyan, and teachers and students inthe department as well as many from other colleges of SCAU attended.

  Prof. Yu Yang graduated from Waseda University with a Ph.D in economicsand now serves as Assistant to Council President of Josai University, DeputyDirector of International Education Center, Professor of School of ModernPolicies and Guest Professor of Waseda University. In his lecture, Prof. Yuintroduced the formation of Japanese modern educational system, its status quo,the entrance examination system and the current problems.

   Inrecent years, Japan has become a hot destination of overseas study with aChinese overseas students body of 120 000. Prof. Yu's informative lecture has familiarizedthe students with Japanese educational system and provided them withconstructive suggestions for future study in Japan.
