On January 17, Pearl River Scholar Prof.Huang Zhonglian from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies was invited by SFSto talk about how to select topics and write application reports for NationalSocial Sciences Fund (NSSF). Deputy Dean Li Zhanxi hosted the lecture and DeanHuang Guowen and Secretary Chen Wenyi were present. 7 applicants of NSSFprojects and about 20 other teachers in SFS attended the lecture.

  After the applicants introduced their application reports, Prof. HuangZhonglian made comments on various aspects like the wording and structure ofthe title, the statements of value and innovation, as well as the selection andprioritization of previous achievements. Prof. Huang gave insightfulsuggestions to the applicants on how to write concise and impressiveapplication reports.

  Deputy Dean Li Zhanxi called for the applicants to revise theirapplication reports in accordance with Prof. Huang's advice and makecontributions to the research work of SFS.
