On December 23, Deputy Dean Prof. Li Zhanxiwas invited to the Belt and Road Multilingual Translation and InternationalTransmission Symposium held in Guangdong University of Foreign Studies.

   The symposium was organized by Huangqiu.com together with higherinstitutes, and officials in the external publicity department of differentareas as well as scholars from many universities and colleges were invited. Thesymposium also initiated the Belt and Road Multilingual Service InternationalTransmission Alliance, aiming to provide insights for the external publicitytranslation work of the country in future.

   The theme of the symposium was "exploring the status quo and futureof multilingual translation and international transmission from the perspectiveof the practice of multilingual service cloud platform for the Belt and Roadreports in 'People's Daily'". Prof. Li Zhanxi exchanged with otherscholars in the symposium his understanding of issues like the necessity ofstandardizing the technical terms of external publicity translation, thecreation modes and cognitive orientation of external publicity translation inthe new era, "the Belt and Road" translation talents cultivation and theintegration of production, learning and research, as well as the theoreticalinnovation and practice of external publicity translation etc..

   On behalf of SFS, Prof. Li signed the memorandum for "the Belt andRoad Multilingual Service International Transmission Alliance". This cancontribute to the integration of MTI construction in SFS with enterprises andthe cultivation of practice-oriented professional translators and interpreters.
