On November 10—12, the InternationalSymposium on Translation, Interpreting and Cognition in the Context of “theBelt and Road” & the 2nd CATIC Conference was held in Ningbo, Hangzhou. Thesymposium was organized by the China Association for Translation, Interpretingand Cognition (CATIC) and undertaken by the School of Foreign Studies of NingboPolytechnic College and Polish Study Center of Zhejiang University, ForeignLanguage Teaching and Research Press and Shanghai Foreign Language EducationPress. Over 300 scholars, teachers and students attended the symposium.

  Prof. Li Zhanxi from SFS of SCAU presented a paper on the cognitivestudy of student interpreters' processing of the author's explication andimplication and presided over the parallel session of "TranslationTeaching and Talents Cultivation". Prof. Li was also appointed asExecutive Director of CATIC.

  CATIC was subordinate to the Rhetoric Society of China and carries outresearch in translation, interpreting and cognition.
