WorldInterpreter and Translator Training Association (WITTA) leaders, includingDeputy Secretary Mr. Mai Wen, Deputy Director of the Teacher Development andInnovation Center Prof. Liang Yue and Program Representative Ms. Chen Yutongvisited SFS on October 23. The meeting was hosted by Prof. Li Zhanxi, DeputyDean in charge of research. Secretary Wu Shantian and Deputy Secretary Yi Huialso attended the meeting.

Prof. LiZhanxi welcomed the visitors and introduced the MTI program of SFS to them. Mr.Mai Wen introduced the recent development in WITTA and pointed out thenecessity and importance of cooperative innovation, the internationalizationand professionalization as well as industrialization of translation andinterpretation teaching body. He also spoke highly of the opportunities andbright future brought by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

WITTA alsohad an interview with Prof. Li Zhanxi, who elaborated on the MTI faculty andthe agriculture-related translation and interpretation programs in SFS. Prof.Li Zhanxi also hoped that WITTA could provide a language service platform,which could help publicize SCAU’s contributions in agricultural research.
