On November 15, Prof. Tang Weisheng from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies visited School of Foreign Studies and delivered a speech titled “’Material Turn’ in Narrative Research” in Room 5A402 of SFS. Prof. Li Zhanxi chaired the lecture.

    In his lecture, Prof. Tang explained the cutting-edge theories in narratology and explored “material turn” in contemporary American literature. He suggested that “material turn” was a natural result of post-humanism, and that it could provide insights for feminist literary criticism, environmental literary criticism and post-colonial literary criticism etc.
