On October 25, Prof. He Ziran from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies visited SFS and delivered a speech on “The Formation of Linguistic Memes and Their transmissional Characteristics---On Chinese Memes and Pragmatics in Social Ecological Environment”. Prof. Li Zhanxi chaired the lecture. Dean of SFS Prof. Huang Guowen were also present.
In the lecture, Prof. He analyzed the formation of Chinese memes and their transmission using theories of pragmatics in social ecological environment. Prof. He illustrated his points with concrete and vivid examples and he also elaborated on the formation and transmission of Chinese cyber catchwords.
Prof. Li Zhanxi commented on the lecture and called for the teachers and students present to see Prof. He as an example of continuous pursuit of innovation. Dean Huang Guowen summarized the lecture and expressed hope that all the teachers in SFS could stand at academic frontier and make achievements.
