The first symposium on Ecolinguistics will be held by the School of Foreign Studies of SCAU and the Center for Ecolinguistics during November 25-27, 2016, in order to promote Chinese studies on Ecolinguistics and to communicate with international counterparts. Renowned scholars will be invited as special guests to deliver keynote speeches, including Prof. Sune Vork Steffensen (University of Southern Denmark), a renowned scholar of international Ecolinguistics and chief editor of Language Sciences (Elsevier), Prof. Jonathan Webster (City University of Hong Kong), a renowned scholar of Halliday theory research and chief editor of Linguistics and the Human Sciences (Equinox) and Journal of World Languages (Routledge), Prof. Hu Gengshen (Tsinghua University and City University of Macau), chair of International Association of Eco-Translatology Research and chief editor of Journal of Eco-translatology, Pro. Huang Guowen (Sun Yat-sen University and South China Agricultural University), Chang Jiang Scholars of Ministry of Education and chief editor of Foreign Languages in China. The symposium is co-organized by several academic journals including CSSCI, Functional Linguistics (Springer) and Journal of World Languages (Routledge).

Scholars, who are interested in Ecolinguistics research, eco-discourse analysis and eco-translation research, are earnestly welcomed to participate in this symposium. People who intend to participate in this symposium should hand in an article centering on the topic and specific issues of the symposium, submit an abstract (about 800 words in Chinese or 500 words in English) and complete an application form (refer to attachment) and send by email to the designated meeting-specialized e-mail (ecoling@126.com) before September 8, 2016. The organization committee will send official invitation letters to participants before October 8, 2016. Outstanding articles will be collected and published.
Participants shall bear Room & Board fee by themselves. The conference fee is 800 Yuan each (for students, 400 Yuan each).
As rooms are limited in the Bamboo Hotel of SCAU, participants who are in need of accommodation should contact the conference team lest you miss the optimal time for booking a room.
