主讲人简介:
Michael Reed is Professor of Agricultural Economics and Director of International Programs for Agriculture at the University of Kentucky. Reed holds a Ph.D. in economics (with a minor in statistics) from Iowa State University (1979); his M.S. in economics is also from Iowa State University (1976); his B.S. in economics is from Kansas State University (1974); he has been at the UK since 1978. He also holds a Doctor Honoris Causa (Honorary Ph.D) from Bucharest University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (Romania); and an Honorary Ph.D. from the Faculty of Business Administration, Maejo University (Thailand).
Reed’s principal area of research and teaching is international trade in agricultural products. His research includes the effects of macroeconomic policies and exchange rates on U.S. food exports, international commodity price dynamics, consumer demand in various countries, and the effects of competition patterns on world agricultural trade patterns. He has been a Fulbright Scholar twice – once to Africa University (Zimbabwe) and once to University of Lampung (Indonesia).
