Notice: 2019 Guangdong Postgraduate Academic Forum - Ecolinguistics and Translation Sub-forum Calls for Papers

Approved by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, the School of Foreign Studies of South China Agricultural University will hold the 2019 “Guangdong Postgraduate Academic Forum – Ecolinguistics and Translation Sub-Forum” on July 13-14, 2019. Graduate students from across the country are welcome!

  

This forum is dedicated to broadening the academic horizons of graduate students in foreign linguistics and translation, inspiring the scientific thinking of graduate students, strengthening academic exchanges between universities in and outside the province, and promoting the research and development of linguistics and translation related disciplines.

  

Co-organized by the Guangdong Society of Foreign Languages, the forum will be conducted in a combination of keynote speeches, group discussions and academic essays. Well-known experts and scholars from the foreign language circle will be invited to give lectures and participate in paper review. The forum will hold an academic paper contest and confer outstanding paper awards.

  

The forum will focus on linguistics, ecolinguistics and translation, including but not limited to the following topics:

      1. Language diversity

      2. The relationship between languages and dialects

      3. Language and culture

      4. Ecological discourse analysis

      5. Ecotranslatology

      6. Translation and culture

      7. Translation localization issues

      8. Translation Theory and Practice

      9. Translation and Information Technology

      10. Translation Teaching Research

  

The number of participants is set at 80 people. Interested parties are expected to submit a 300-500 word abstract (either in English or Chinese) and send it to the conference email scauforum@163.com before June 6, 2019. The subject of the email and abstract file will be named as university-your name-title of the papers with an end page after the abstract indicating the your name, gender, university, phone number, email, degree etc. Accepted participants will receive an invitation letter by June 13. If you plan to participate in the academic paper contest, you should submit the full paper to the conference email before June 20. Please indicate “Full Text” in the subject and file name. All invited participants can participate in the parallel sessions.

  

This forum does not charge conference fees. Free lunches and dinners are offered. Participants from outside Guangzhou will be provided with accommodation.
