A workshop on interactive teaching strategies was successfully held in Room 5A402 in the School of Foreign Studies on December 1.
In the workshop, Madam Susanna Aafjes was invited by the Teacher’s Development Center of the Academic Affairs Office of SCAU to talk about interactive teaching strategies. Deputy Dean Li Ge of the School attended the workshop.
Targeting at the problems of large class size, management difficulty and unevenness of students’ levels, Susanna Aafjes drew lessons from her 35 years’ teaching experience and analyzed strategies on grouping, group leader selection, interactive tasks design etc. She proposed that language class should be student-centered and language skill training-oriented. She also pointed out that students might be visual or auditory or kinesthetic learning types and that how to devise task according to students’ learning habits was a challenging job.
The workshop was well received by the faculty in the School.
